Privacy notice
Last updated October 2026
What you share here is personal, and it stays that way. This notice explains what information is kept, why, and the choices you have. It is written under the Data Protection (Bailiwick of Guernsey) Law, 2017.
Who is responsible
The Care Consultancy is run by Angie Robinson, a sole practitioner in Guernsey, who is the controller of your information. You can reach her at angie@thecareconsultancy.gg about anything in this notice.
This website
The site sets no cookies, uses no analytics or tracking, and has no forms. Like any web server, the host keeps short technical logs (such as IP addresses and the pages requested) to keep the site running and secure; these are not used to identify you and are deleted routinely.
What is kept, and why
- If you get in touch: your name, contact details and what you write, so that you can be answered.
- If we work together: contact details, appointment records, and brief notes from sessions. Notes may touch on your health and wellbeing, which the law treats as special category information and protects closely.
- Payments: what is needed to invoice you and keep accounts.
Information is used only to provide support to you, to keep the work safe and of good quality, and to meet legal and professional obligations. It is never sold, and never used for marketing.
The legal basis
Contact details and appointments are kept to take steps you have asked for and to provide the service. Health information is processed with your explicit consent, and for the provision of care by a practitioner bound by a duty of confidentiality. Financial records are kept because the law requires it.
Confidentiality and its limits
What you say in sessions is confidential. Like all responsible practitioners, Angie discusses her work with a clinical supervisor, without anything that identifies you. Confidentiality may only be set aside where there is a serious risk of harm to you or to someone else, or where the law requires disclosure. Wherever possible, this would be talked through with you first.
Where it is stored
Email and records are held securely in Google Workspace, protected by strong passwords and two-step sign-in. Google may store data on servers outside the Bailiwick, under safeguards recognised by Guernsey law. Paper notes, if any, are kept locked away.
How long it is kept
Session notes and records are kept for up to seven years after our work ends, then securely destroyed. Enquiries that do not lead to working together are deleted within twelve months. Financial records are kept for as long as tax law requires.
Your rights
You can ask, at any time and free of charge, to:
- see the information held about you;
- have anything inaccurate corrected;
- have your information deleted, where there is no legal need to keep it;
- restrict or object to how it is used, or withdraw your consent;
- receive a copy in a portable form.
Just email angie@thecareconsultancy.gg. You will have a reply within a month.
Raising a concern
If you are unhappy with how your information has been handled, please say so first so it can be put right. You can also complain to the Office of the Data Protection Authority, Guernsey's regulator, at odpa.gg.
